Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information speora ("we", "us") collects when you use speora.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us through the Support page.

1. Information you give us

Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we can't read them. Each mobile number can be linked to one account.
Content you submit: articles, images, company listings, comments, quiz answers and support requests.
Chat messages: messages you send in Support chat, the Community room and private chats with other members (see section 4).
Earn program details: if you join the Earn program, the payout details you choose to give us: bank account holder name, bank name, account number or IBAN, IFSC or SWIFT code, PayPal email, UPI ID and, optionally, a mobile number for payout questions.

2. Information collected automatically

Activity on speora: pages and articles you open, sign-in and sign-out times, shares, saves and similar actions, with the time they happened.
Device and connection: IP address, browser type and an approximate location (city and region) worked out from your IP address when you sign in.
Referral reads: when someone opens an article from an Earn program link, we record the article, the time, the visitor's IP address and a one-way code made from their browser details. We use this to count reads and stop fake traffic.
Cookies and local storage: a session cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser also stores small preferences, such as articles you started reading and whether the chat box was open. These stay on your device.

3. How we use your information

To run your account, publish and manage your content, and show your points, messages and earnings.
To answer support requests and send you notices about your account, articles, company listing or payouts.
To count article views, saves and shares, and to calculate Earn program earnings.
To pay Earn program members using the payout details they provide.
To keep speora safe: preventing spam, fake accounts, fake traffic and abuse of chat.
To understand how speora is used and improve it.

4. Chat and moderation

Support chats are between you and the speora team. Messages in the Community room are visible to every signed-in member. Private chats between members are visible to the two members and to speora moderators, who may read, delete or act on messages to enforce our Terms, for example by pausing a member's chat access. Please don't share passwords, bank details or other sensitive information in chat.

5. When we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:

Publicly, when you choose: your name on published articles, comments and Community messages, and the details you put in a company listing.
With payment providers, such as your bank, PayPal or a UPI app, only as needed to send an Earn program payout.
With service providers who help us run speora, such as web hosting and email delivery.
With Google, which provides Google Analytics and Google AdSense on speora. Google may use cookies to measure visits and show ads, and its use of that data is covered by Google's own privacy policy. You can manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
When the law requires it, or to protect speora, our members or the public from fraud or harm.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. Activity logs and referral-read records are kept as long as needed for statistics, fraud checks and resolving payout questions. Payout records may be kept longer where accounting or tax rules require. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information unless we must keep it for these reasons.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and restricted admin access to protect your information. No website can be completely secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.

8. Your choices and rights

You can update your details from your dashboard. You can also ask us, through the Support page, to see a copy of your information, correct it, delete your account, leave the Earn program, or remove your payout details. Where a law such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you further rights, we'll respect them.

9. Children

speora isn't intended for children under 13. The Earn program is open only to members aged 18 or over.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as speora changes. When we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let members know in their dashboard.
